As always, I'm hoping for performance improvements. I don't think Adobe has added much of vaue to Acrobat since the kickass preflight function. I do like the new form creation wizard and on-line tracking. That's pretty cool.

FoxIt Reader is the Single Small 3MB PDF Reader we all need.

The latest version adds more parity with the Adobe Reader,
and has Tabbed Browsing, too!

Adobe Reader 8 Lite is a far better deal than Foxit:

Adobe got fat and slow and Foxit was a good alternative. WAS. Acrobat 8 fixed a lot of things and the lite version is now better than Foxit. Also, Foxit has added a lot of weight since its introduction. It's OK to like a software, but as time goes by you have to keep your eyes open. What was good in the past may not be so good today and vice-versa.

Lovely... will Reader 9 be even more bloated and sluggish than Reader 8? We can but hope...
#4.1 buletov on 04 Jun 2008 - 18:04
Actually, 8 is faster than 6 and 7, especially the 8 Lite version.

They say 9 starts up in half the time of 8 so its quite quick.
#4.3 Raa on 05 Jun 2008 - 00:41
And considering how fast 8 was, I expect 9 to be real snappy! Good to see

Reader 8 bloated and sluggish? What? I mean, I know software enthusiasts will always argue back and forth over which software is better, but your claim is preposterous. You may prefer something else, and that's okay, but Adobe Reader 8 is extremely quick and snappy.

PDF-XChange Viewer (freeware) is the best!
