Let your CD or DVD automatically open your documents or display a menu when your disk is inserted into the user's computer. Create autorun disks in a few clicks, no design or programming required! All you need to do is to specify your documents, web pages and presentations in this easy step-by-step wizard. You can create autorun disks from scratch or add autorun capabilities to the files already prepared for your CD.

You can ensure that your users will read your documents! If your user does not have the necessary software to open your documents, then your autorun disk will let the user know where to download a viewer software or even install the software automatically.

Your menus will automatically adapt its look to user's operating system and font settings. You don't need to manually position your buttons, just drag your documents to the wizard and let it do all the hard work for you!

$30 for an app that writes a couple of lines to an autorun.inf?

Above information is semi-correct.

"FREE for personal, non-commercial use"

I would try it out for 5 minutes, make one of every change/edit it can make, then check the resulting .INF file.
After that you'll know what it does so you can uninstall and do it yourself manually, or write a freeware application that can do the same thing.

Why even go through that trouble? The autorun.inf file is well documented by Microsoft itself and elsewhere.

See, you can't do what this program does, with autorun.inf:

1) you can not start a document (not a program) with autorun.inf.
2) 1st Autorun Express will check if a computer, where your CD will run, has the software to open your document. For example is there Word or Word Viewer for your DOC file. And if there are no such software, then it will tell the user where to download one or it can even install Word Viewer automatically!
3) With autorun.inf you can not setup desired window state or shell's verb.
4) This tool let your extract an icon from any doc or program and use it for your CD!

And this functionality is completely FREE! The license for this is required for commerical use only.

As for the autorun menu, then it is completely not available in autorun.inf!

1st Autorun Express will let you create autorun menu automatically. You just need to select which documents to display in the menu!

To share autorun menus on different computers you need to purchase a license. If you need to create menus for yourself, then it is again free!
