Well.

That completely hosed my install. I had to do a system restore afterward. I couldn't even get into safe mode.

BSOD every time I attempted to boot. Windows wasn't even writing memory.dmp files for me to analyze with windbg. Even after I deleted the ATI kernel driver (Which shouldn't have been loaded in safe mode anyway), it still BSODed.

I just ended up reformatting. (Vista x64). It works now, though.

Installed just fine here, but I always install the drivers through the device manager, otherwise my card is not recognized. (ASUS HD3650 AGP).

They still work crippled in Windows Server 2008 x64 and they still have issues with Vista x64.

They still suck and they still doesn't give a damn about it.

Just buy nVidia.

What does this have to do with the current state of ATi drivers? Truth is they are not too great, and haven't been for a while, regardless of how good or bad nVidia drivers are.

nForce? And what does it have to do with video drivers?
GeForce works better in Win2008 x64.

I'm a recent ATI convert, due to nVidia providing zero AGP options.

I'm concerned with the number of older games that are no longer working. Star Wars Republic Commando and Star Ship Troopers to name two big ones for me. I don't only play recent titles, and I'm concerned with compatability. If this keeps up, I will be putting nVidia cards in my new system.

I've heard an alarming number of OpenGL extensions have dissapeared from their more recent drivers.

They say it supports some OpenGL 3.0 extensions, but some that they say they support don't show up as supported for my 4850 on opengl extension viewer. And as always opengl works really "fast" on ATI cards.
