An integrated workspace environment, Winstep Xtreme is a powerful suite of applications that merge incredible usability and performance with breathtaking eye candy:

NeXuS is the dock system, and is just perfect for super fast access to your most used applications. You can have as many docks as you want, and each can have multiple sub-docks! When not in use, docks can hide behind your screen edges, taking virtually no screen space. It is also the first dock to bring Leopard style live icon reflections to Windows.

WorkShelf is a tabbed dock, better suited to complex organizational duties like organizing documents, URLs, movies, work projects, etc... If a dock is the top of your desk, then Workshelf is all the drawers below it.

NextSTART is the menu system - and takes care of all your task management needs as well.

The Winstep Start Menu Organizer cleans and organizes your Windows Start Menu.

FontBrowser is a bare-bones font browsing utility.

Winstep Xtreme also includes a pack of popular desktop widgets which can be displayed on the desktop, featured within the docks, placed within shelves or merged into the taskbar. Featured widgets include a speaking Atomic Clock, Recycle Bin, SSL POP3/IMAP Email Checker, Weather Monitor with 5 day forecast, CPU, Net and RAM Meters, and Wanda, the amazing 'fortune cookie' reader.

Sigh. You guys tire me with all that jumping to conclusions.

Download and install Winstep Xtreme, use it for a couple of days, then come talk to me about it. If you still think that the FIVE different applications that make up Winstep Xtreme are not worth $39.90 (and there is even a $28.45 version, in case you didn't read that above), then I'll personally give you a FREE copy. Fair enough?

It's actually not half bad, so I don't really get all the senseless bashing.

its not worth the $40. $20 maybe at the most but definitely not $40. (was trying to comment on the JcRabbit comment but damn site wont let me click submit.)

Your perception seems to be that Winstep Xtreme is a single application (which comes from the fact that you haven't used Winstep Xtreme at all or only tried it for a very short time). It is not. It is a suite of mature and feature packed applications, some of which have been in continuous development for 10 years and were previously sold individually. Maybe the following will clear things up:

NextSTART: $24.95
WorkShelf + NeXuS + Desktop Widgets: $29.95
Winstep Start Menu Organizer Pro: $19.95
Total for individual applications: $74.85
Winstep Xtreme: $39.90 (you save $34.95)

Also, as I mentioned before, there is even a Winstep Xtreme Basic version which sells for only $28.45.

Everyone has the right to charge however much they want. I'm sure there are a lot of people that will justify its price. So I don't see the need to bash software based on how much they're charging (providing its reasonable, which this is).

Thanks JcRabbit for the contributions you have made to OS customization. If I were still on Windows, I'd definitely check it out!
