XBMC is an open source, cross platform, skinable media center. In development for years now, the first release marked as a stable branching point was released today. XBMC skins allow you you view fan art, movie/tv show synopsis, song info, and more, automatically downloading the details from an Internet connection machine. Team-XBMC announce the following:Team-XBMC is proud to announce the cross-platform release of XBMC Media Center for Linux, Mac OS X (Leopard, Tiger, and Apple TV), Windows, and Xbox, code named ‘Atlantis‘.
We've reached the end of over 3 months of bug bashing, and have closed 425 tickets for this release and, while there are still some bugs outstanding, we feel that ‘Atlantis' is reasonably stable, and thus it's time to move on and get cracking on new features. We've branched for release, and will maintain this branch with critical bug fixes while we move on and begin working on new features in the main linuxport trunk.

only issue is i think they need to update the MC360 skin cause im fairly sure it's buggy in the sense when u first load it up and then scroll to the left side (the last blade) it basically wont go back to the right when it's supposed to... only way to get it to go back is to click up or down on d-pad then you can switch blades fine after that.
p.s. now i can finally update my XBMC from a build i been using since June-ish
also, it's been over 2 years since there last stable build of XBMC.... honestly though i think they need AT LEAST 1 stable build a year at minimum... although i feel about twice a year seems about right

basically im sure the stable XBMC on XBox1 is perfectly fine (with it's default skins etc) as i think it's a glitch in the MC360 skin (makes XBMC look like the xbox360 dashboard) as that skin aint been updated since Jan 2008.
but i guess it aint a major issue as the skin still seems to work fine for the most part although i do notice i can consistently repeat that issue i explained in my first post.
Surprised nobody here has mentioned the other skin it comes with by default. I think its called mediastream. God that theme is sexy!.

IF you think that's sexy, take a look at horizonz

so even though the skin aint bad , cause of that reason alone i find the default skin and MC360 (makes it look like XBox360's dashboard) to be FAR better.
but even if mediastream's text was bigger... i still find the default skin and mc360 to be more efficient as far as navigating through the menu's etc.
here is a picture i took from the XBox1 itself running XBMC with the MC360 skin... which dont come with the XBMC installation by default... you have to download it from there website... and the version on there website has issues with the newest stable build of XBMC so you have to get it from the SVN which it explains what to do.. but what you do that it works perfectly fine.... or if someone would rather have me upload the 'ready to use' skin for XBMC i can do that to.
this is not totally stock MC360 skin as i have the 'MC60 Concept' 'skin theme' running with the MC360 skin itself.... the stars in the pic you see are animated as they get bigger and smaller a little bit which you cant see in the picture which i think are cooler than the stock MC360 skin.
