Over 480 million Internet-enabled desktops have installed Adobe Shockwave Player in mature markets around the world. These people now have access to some of the best the Web has to offer - including dazzling 3D games and entertainment, interactive product demonstrations, and online learning applications. Shockwave Player displays Web content that has been created by Adobe (Macromedia) Director.

Notes: Browser plug-in, includes 3rd party toolbar (optional) during installation.

not much stuff uses shockwave as far as im aware... seems like FLASH is more common.

so in my opinion, unless you need this dont install it... cause wont this potentially increase the chances of being hacked since it's just more ways a hacker could attack u?

certain online games use it so you might as well install it as you never know when you will need it.

I wish sites would quit using it. There really isn't much of a need for it anymore.
