Opera 10 Alpha (Peregrine) is out. Here are the major changes so far, with more to come during the course of development:
  • Presto 2.2 Engine
  • Performance boost
  • 100/100 and pixel-perfect on the Acid3 test
  • Auto-update
  • Inline spelling checker
  • Opera Mail improvements, including rich text composition and delete after X days
  • Widget Improvements on Linux

i do agree that the default interface is horrible compared to the previous one and it needs fixing.

It completes Acid3, but the animation was not exactly smooth.

It still fails to show Google Maps' right-click menu, even when JavaScript is set to allow scripts to receive right-clicks.

Man, I'm actually torn between using Opera 10 and Chrome now. Both are incredibly fast at rendering. Choices!
