Warning to GeForce 7600 Users!!!

These new 181.20 drivers do not work properly! You will get stuck with VGA mode drivers and a device manager error:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

I am not the only person experiencing this:

Thanks for the heads up there buddy.
I've submitted the issue in to NVidia's software quality group as a bug in the release, it looks like it might just be Vista users who are having the problems. I haven't personally confirmed it though.

I'm glad you didn't, I wasted an hour of my life on it that I'll never get back again

I wish I had read this first. I installed it in vista for my 7600, didn't get the error message, but lost dual monitor access, the NVidia control panel, and got stuck with VGA drivers also. It was a PITA! I uninstalled and reinstalled and had the same problems. Good to know it isn't just me!

Anyone know if these work with Windows 7 Beta x64? If so, I figure these could get better performance than the 179s that come with it...

I just installed this on a GF6200 Vista 32-bit system. I got a 0.2 drop down to 2.4 on the assessment for 'Graphics' compared to 2.6 on driver version 178.24.

performance seems to be the same on my 260 SSC, running in vista x64 and frontlines fuel of war, still around 60-65 fps @ 1920x1080
