I wonder if they'll update the drivers for Windows 7 soon.

Cat 9.1 would be great if I could actually use them!

They, and 8.12, cause my display to develop the green-screen issue!!

Is anyone else getting a 403 error?

Edit : Seems to be a problem with my Firefox - I.E. worked ok.

huddy,

I had the same problem yesterday! IE7 worked fine, though.

Wonder why there is no "check for updates" or even an auto updater in the Catalyst Control suite. In this day in age, it does not make sense to have to download and completely resinstall a piece of software to get the benefit of a (minor) update.

Because a driver cannot be updated automatically. Its different than software.

Huh? Drivers *are* software! The reason is that a driver update is far more likely to break things than simple bugfixes and security patches that don't interact directly with the hardware, and thus shouldn't be automatically applied (much like service packs which can play with the kernel and HAL, etc). When something serious is fixed, drivers do get posted to Windows Update - it's just rare.

Still, a simple "check for updates" button wouldn't go unappreciated. :-)

Some of you really need to read up before you post.
A drivers is a (kind of) software but it is not software and software isnt a driver.

Is it really a wise idea to directly link to the drivers installers?
#6 Minchino on 30 Jan 2009 - 15:00

#7.1 Atlonite on 10 Feb 2009 - 10:14
so turn of the atieven service you don't need it, it's not a vital part of windows nor is it a vital part of the catalyst drivers control center

"With some ATI Radeon adapters and Windows Vista 64 systems with more than 4 GB of system memory the display driver may fail to load and report a code 43 error"

It looks like some people are still getting this problem, I for one did, when installing the new drivers. After a lot of messing around I managed to get the drivers installed and working in a crossfire configuration.

Seen no speedup in this drivers.
Ati should fix the install.
I needed to uninstall my gpu and manually reinstall it.. otherwise the control panel freezes.
