With the Life Without Walls campaign moving swiftly, one ad stuck out in my mind as of tonight. Sure, we have Kylie, aged 4 and a half, who wants to send pictures of her fish. But who can top the Mythbusters? The new ad featured tonight during reruns of Mythbusters has Kari on a laptop reviewing pictures in Windows Live Photo Gallery from past episodes, including "Walking On Fire" and "Robo Dog". Kari's mother then pops up on Windows Live Messenger and asks why she never calls anymore.
It is really great to see the Life Without Walls campaign stretching new boundaries, young and older folk alike. I am eager to see if the ads produce the revenue that Microsoft is looking for, especially in the Windows Live products.
If Microsoft is smart (and I know they are), we will see more humorous ads featuring other Windows Live greats such as Messenger, Family Safety settings, and Mail.

but the show itself is still pretty good to. she's just 'icing on the cake' sorta thing.
I love Mythbusters.
But the commercial was very well done. Much better than their other recent efforts.
The whole "Windows: Life without walls" is perplexing...because...what is the point of a Windows w/o a Wall?
Anyway...I want to see this ad! Kari is friggen hawt! Did you see her in Maxim?
I mean not every wall has a window... but does every window have a wall?
Put it this way, consumer buys a computer from FutureBuy and wants to use these new features they can't as it must be downloaded. Guess it will never be bundled by MS since the EU cripple progress.

I don't think that's why -- MS themselves says they're doing this to aid them in keeping the software more up to date. I'm sure they'd blame the EU if they could, and if they didn't like what they had to do.
The source for that info is from Paul Thurott, not officially MS. From a recent meeting, Balmer mentioned about Live and how they are complying with the Consent of Decree that resulted from the anti-trust case years ago. So it's nothing to do with the EU either. The meeting is mentioned here: http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=3268 which have links to webcast/transcript
If you divide the screen into a tic tac toe board, you can find where your audience will look first. They will first look at the upper left intersection of the lines, then the upper right, then lower left, then lower right. The instant message "How come you never..." isn't on any of these lines, so they're making the audience struggle to read it.
If the audience has to struggle to find out what the instant message says, then they'll probably get a feeling that Windows products aren't easy to use.
It would have been a simple cameraman fix while filming, but for some reason they shot this scene like an ameuter.
Speaking of ameuters, (however you spell it) wouldn't it be cool if all of these commercials were edited with Windows Movie Maker? That would be a blow in Apple's face!
Shame she doesn't actually do anything for the show.
Personally I miss Scottie. More geeky hot chicks on Mythbusters is always good.
