uTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. It was designed to use as little cpu, memory and space as possible while offering all the functionality expected from advanced clients.

Features
  • Multiple simultaneous downloads
  • Configurable bandwidth scheduler
  • Global and per-torrent speed limiting
  • Quick-resumes interrupted transfers
  • RSS Downloader
  • Trackerless support (Mainline DHT)

--- 2009-04-23: Version 1.8.2 (build 15227)
- Change: installer increases the Ask rollout to 10%
- Change: If the toolbar download fails, it retries to download it from "download.utorrent.com/offers/…". It only retries once.

Spam is only an optional issue with new installs. Updates aren't affected.

I was a little careful of upgrading, too, but the main thing to remember is it's been a long time since 1.61 and has anything happened to people using the latest.....? No.

Though uTorrent is the best torrent client as far as I am concerned, their update policy sucks big time -- there are probably 5 to 10 different builds of a specific version with no notification whatsoever. Unless you check the changelogs and/or build date every day you can't really say which version you're using. I'd definitely prefer 1.8.2.3 to that...
