O&O DiskImage Express is free software which enables you to image your entire computer and restore single drives.

When first starting O&O DiskImage Express, please proceed as follows:

  • Download the packed file archive (*.Zip) onto a drive with a minimum of 20 MB free disk space.
  • Extract the downloaded file, and ideally enter your external storage media (hard disk, USB stick etc) as the target drive.
  • Start O&O DiskImage Express by double clicking on the file oodiex.exe, which you can find in the folder OO Soft/Programs.

It's not "freeware," from what it said to be able to restore your image you have to buy the pro version. Guess I'll be sticking with Clonezilla.

Well, you could use the free version to restore a system if you made your own WinPE disc to run it from. With the paid version, you get a boot disc, you don't get it with the free version.

Its interface is great. I will make a test image to see how it works.

There are other free choices like Macrium Reflect Free Edition which includes a linux-based boot disk.

Has anyone tried the utility built into windows? I just made a backup with it on this computer since I can never find any that will make an image on my system because of the raid setup. On my other computers I have been using Clonezilla. The interface is not pretty but it does the job. I haven't figured out how to even load linux on my raid setup yet.

MyDefrag (formerly known as JkDefrag) i think is one of the best defrag programs out there because it's fairly quick to defrag unlike some programs.

Great, but how the hell does that have anything to do with backup software?

Are you stupid? You didn't read the title, let alone the article :|
Don't post anything about something when you have no clue what it is. Iidot.

I think as O&O is very famous for their defrag software, ThaCrip was a bit confused.

For windows users using Vista and 7, imagex is free from Microsoft. Has a slight learning curve but once you figure it out it works awesome. I use acronis, ghost, and imagex and I prefer imagex over them all, just wish someone would create a gui interface for it.
