FileZilla is powerful Open Source FTP/SFTP client with many features. It includes a site manager to store all your connection details and logins as well as an Explorer style interface that shows the local and remote folders and can be customized independently. The program offers support for firewalls and proxy connections as well as SSL and Kerberos GSS security. Additional features include keep alive, auto ascii/binary transfer, download queue, manual transfers, raw FTP commands and more.

    What's new:
  • Aborting a previous connection attempt by establishing a new connection in the same tab no longer renders the new connection unusable
  • *nix: Quote filenames containing spaces if editing using default editor for text files
  • *nix: Fix crash while emitting queue finished notifications
  • *nix: Display desktop notification if all transfers have finished and FileZilla isn't focused
  • Give choice to abort old connection or to open a new tab when trying to connect while already connected
  • Double-click on empty space in tabbar opens new tab
  • Middle-click on tab closes it
  • Use splitter positions and filelist column setup of previous tab when opening new one
  • Make betas and release candidates check daily for new versions

You probably should have included changes from one more version: 3.3.0-beta1 (2009-10-27) as well:

New features:
* Tabbed interface to connect to multiple server at the same time
* New welcome screen
* Add Open to local directory tree context menu

The first one is very cool.

One of the best pieces of freeware out there.

yeah, it's pretty good for FREE but i think my favorite price of free software is 'ImgBurn'

p.s. but i do seem to notice that FileZilla seems to not like the FTP Server from the #xbins thing (i.e. the one that contains all the moding software/firmware for consoles) ... so i usually use Firefox itself to connect to that FTP server and it seems fine.

It is a brilliant piece of software but they need to clean up the interface a bit. The tabbed idea is great but there are still far too many windows by default which means you can only view a few items in each one.

Their FTP server is great but I still prefer FlashFXP for my FTPing.
