Speedy new Lumia Camera app shown off on video

The new version of Lumia Camera, destined to launch on devices that feature the latest Denim firmware, has been shown off on camera with impressive speed improvements and its new HDR capture mode.

Denim is the newest firmware version for Lumia Windows Phones, and while some handsets already have it – such as the Lumia 830 and 730 – most Lumia devices are still waiting for the update. We’ve touched on Denim many times before and among the most anticipated features will be the speed improvements in the Lumia Camera app, shown off below.

As you can see in the video the camera launches nearly instantly which is a big step forward from today’s 2-3 second delay. The slow launch speed of the app has been constantly remarked upon by users and Microsoft promised they’d address this. Also shown off is the new HDR mode which many users have been awaiting for a long time now.

Denim is expected to roll-out worldwide early next year but some flagship devices should start seeing the update before the end of the month.
