Spore and My Sims heading to the DS

Today during the conference call following Electronics Arts' third-quarter earnings report, executives from the publisher finally confirmed that Spore is coming to the DS as well as the PC. Speaking to analysts, EA CFO Warren Jenson said, "[With] Spore, we will be not only focusing on the PC and online; we are launching this innovative experience on the NDS." The game will be released sometime during EA's next fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2008.

Though no further details on the DS version of Spore were disclosed, DS fans got some other good news. The Wii version of the Sims, which features a more cartoony visual style, will be ported to the dual-screen handheld. Both games will go by the moniker My Sims and will also be released sometime during EA's coming fiscal year.

Wow, I might actually buy Spore for PC and DS. If they could put some kind of online integration between the two versions that would be awesome.

They need to hurry the hell up and release Spore for PC, I've been waiting more than a year for it!

Edit: Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for it, and I'm sure it'll be great. I just want it now :P
