S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl Finally Gold

Gamespot is reporting that long-delayed S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, developed by GSC Gameworld and published by THQ, has finally gone gold. The announcement was made by THQ's Executive Vice President, Kelly Flock, at THQ's Gamer's Day Event in San Francisco. After six years of development, the title is to be released on the 22nd of March, 2007.

Lets wait till it appears in stores and see what it looks like, frankly speaking I was not impressed my MPdemo, seen nothing that could have justified 6 years of development

The only downside is that it seems the gap I felt STALKER once had to some of the competition has had time to shorten a bit due to all this time in development. But sure, it's not looking bad or anything.

is this the game that i heard so much hype about like 5 years ago, then never heard anything about it pretty much untill now?
