Star Wars Pinball for Windows 8, Xbox 360 and more announced

Zen Studios has had great success with its lineup of both original pinball games and its Marvel super hero pinball add-on tables. Today, the developer announced that it will soon be adding tables based on the Star Wars franchise to its various platforms.

Star Wars Pinball was developed in association with LucasArts and will launch sometime in February with three tables at first: Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Zen Studios adds:

With the first table release, players will take control of beloved characters such as Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. Players will also be able to post their scores to global leaderboards, experience in-game friend challenges, local hotseat, online multiplayer, and a host of other features.

Windows 8 and Xbox 360 owners will be able to download the Star Wars Pinball tables as add-ons for the previously released Pinball FX2 game. PS3, PS Vita and Mac owners will add the new table to their Zen Pinball 2 game while iOS and Android device owners will add the tables to their Zen Pinball game. Pricing was not announced for any of the add-ons.

Let's hope they actually fix Pinball FX2 first. It's without a doubt the most broken piece of software I have ever had on my computer, and I played Skyrim on launch with way too many mods.

What device are you playing it on? I own most of the tables in that game, never had a problem with my gamepad or keyboard, no crashes.

Too bad the Surface just couldn't handle the graphics smoothly for this. I'll buy it for my desktop though. The Avengers and Wolverine tables are great!

that is an interesting thingie as better or equal graphics games like hydro thunder or reckless racing handles completely lag-free on surface - however these games were less than smooth before a few updates (to the apps and the surface itself as well) but pinball fx2 is yet to receive something like that - so i'm still confident the issue will be resolved in the future

(luckily if bought for destkop it's available on your surface and vice versa so only one purchase is required for the two systems)

The game engine is free, and yes, the tables are sold through Xbox so they are available on both. I'm thinking Pinball is more intensive than both of those games you mentioned, Pinball games can eat a low-end GPU on a desktop but an update to improve performance would be nice.
