Symantec Completes Brightmail Purchase

Symantec Corp. on Tuesday said it has completed the acquisition of Brightmail, a maker of spam-filtering products.

Symantec, which makes anti-virus and security software, said it now planned on integrating Brightmail's technology into its own messaging security products.

Symantec, based in Cupertino, Calif., announced in May that it had agreed to buy San Francisco-based Brightmail for $370 million in cash.
