OCZ Technology, one of the biggest companies that makes solid state drives, has announced that it will file for bankruptcy and that Toshiba has an offer to buy most of OCZ's assets.
A group of researchers, including one from Microsoft Research, believe that solid state drives will have performance issues in the future as the circuitry inside those drives continues to decrease.
The maker of one of the most popular solid state drives, Kingston, predicts that prices for SSDs will finally cause the average consumer to pick them before regular hard drives by the end of 2012.
