TechSpot: HTC Desire 816 Review

Since the launch of the first successful large-screened smartphone back in 2011, the Samsung Galaxy Note, there has been a growing demand for devices with larger-than-normal displays. While originally these were mostly in the upper echelon when it comes to smartphone pricing, we're now seeing more oversized handsets hit the market with mid-range specs and price tags.

This is exactly where HTC’s new product fits in. The Desire 816’s main feature is the large 5.5-inch HD display, and it also packs in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC, a 13-megapixel camera, and design cues from HTC’s recent high-end products. All of this is available for just $325, placing it squarely in the affordable territory of the Nokia Lumia 1320 and Asus Zenfone 6.

WOW, they have already made 816 different Desires... impressive! As fast as HTC brings out new models it wouldn't surprise me!

And Apple made 5 iPhones.... oh wait

I know Nokia didn't make 1520 different Lumias, either

Your point is?

I think his point is Desire 816 is a retarded name - and I'd fully agree.

And it is no less surprising that they made their fist phone, aka htc one, an impressive one.

Yes but that was a good name. They didn't call it the HTC One 816
