The best Internet Explorer add-ins

A browser by itself is a poor thing, letting you browse the Web, but little else. To get the most out of the Web, you need add-ins that give your browser plenty of extra features.

Firefox is well known for its plug-ins, but there aren't as many available for Internet Explorer. Still, you needn't feel left out in the cold. In fact, there are plenty of add-ins for IE as well.

The source includes a list of plugins for IE from killing annoying ads, to restoring crashed browsing sessions, to grabbing video from sites like YouTube and more. And even though its an add-in for Microsoft, everyone one of them are free!

That just says that Firefox is boring and cranky. Seems about right! IE, according to that is happy and fun, Netscape is still boasting that it was first, and Safari just looks like a special needs student.

ROFL! hahaha loved it

IE7pro, thats it...I dont use any other add-ons for IE7. I would use IE7 a lot more if they would even attempt to keep up with the extensions that Firefox has. I actually like IE7...its the only IE i can say that about. As it stands it'll stay in 3rd behind Opera and Firefox....its very close now tho, IMO.

This all should have been available years ago. Way to finally catch up IE....
Well, as far as I know there has been inline search plugins since the release of IE7, and IIRC there was one for IE6 too. IE7Pro has also been around since 2006. Of course IE still doesn't provide the flexible, customizable experience of Firefox. And it doesn't have to IMO. I like it better like that. If I feel like bloating a browser to death I'll probably use FF. Most of the time I don't need 10% of that functionality so I stick with IE, much lower memory footprint, faster and safer.

Technically IE doesn't have a lower memory foot print because it is integrated into Windows. So unless your installation of Windows uses less than 30MB to 50MB of memory Firefox has a lower foot print.

Please take off your fanboy blinkers it makes you look silly.

the only add on worth metioning for IE is "Find as you type" and they skipped it ....

Troll, there are two superior inline search plugins listed there. Read before you decide to make foolish comments.

I absolutely HATE anything that "finds" anything, as I go along.

The ONLY worth wild addon for IE, is IE7Pro! I also HATE even thinking of loading a ton of addons to my browser. May as well not even want to browse the web, as most addons are geared toward blocking something or another!!

:P I'm not trolling :P I'm stating that they skipped "Find as you type" and I'm still standing on what I said, the stuff mentioned in the article is plain useless. go bash someone else

IE7Pro includes a "Find as You Type" feature. Just press Ctrl+F and the toolbar will popup at the bottom of the window, like Firefox.

You can't slap "troll" on anyone's opinion that you don't like. Trolling would be coming in here and saying "screw IE7, get Firefockz!"
