The official Twitch app is now available for desktop users

After months of experiments and beta testing, the popular live video streaming network, Twitch has finally unveiled its official client for Windows and Mac operating systems. Along with the usual core functions, the app will introduce exclusive bells and whistles for desktop users.

In a blog post released today, the company jotted down the specifics about its new app. Every function available on the web has made their way into the app. Not only that, the user interactions here are reportedly faster compared to its web counterpart.

Dark mode is among the notable features that are exclusive to the native app. The company is also introducing built-in video and voice chat support. One thing that many Twitch users will appreciate is the new Servers feature; this lets the communities continue their interactions even when the stream goes offline.
