That's not Thunderbird's fault, it's up to Microsoft to provide client access to ther mail.

Trouble is, my wife's Incredimail has built in Hotmail account support, where as I have to use 3rd party software for Thunderbird to pull my Hotmail accounts in. If other email programs can pull Hotmail in, then they could too.

I hope it can import Window Vista mail and contacts.

The old version would frequently disply incorrect ammounts of mail in folders with lots of messages.

Thunderbird 2 seems to be faster than 1.5.x in loading my email messages. The new theme and icons are also quite nice.

it probably still doesn't work as well as OE.

in OE, it displays "Size" instead of "Lines" in newsgroups, and lets me join newsgroup posts together.

does Thunderbird do that?

No, and I don't care, because I don't download usenet binaries with my email client.
