TigerDirect to sell their last HP TouchPads later today

Last week, HP told its customers that it no longer had any more of its canceled WebOS-based TouchPad tablets available to sell. Later, Best Buy revealed that it had some TouchPads it was willing to unload to customers, but only if they also bought an HP desktop or notebook.

Now it turns out there's yet another small amount of the 32 GB versions of the TouchPads that will go on sale later today. The TigerDirect has posted up a countdown page that will reach zero at 2:30 pm Eastern Time and at that time the sale will go live. TigerDirect has not indicated just how many of the TouchPads they will have available.

As with the Best Buy deal, TigerDirect is still forcing you to purchase some additional items in order to get its TouchPad, However, in this case the bundle deal is a little more understandable. In addition to the tablet, TigerDirect is offering a tablet case and stand, both by Belkin, along with some Bluetooth-based speakers from Creative Labs and a 16 GB USB Flash drive from HP.

The entire bundle is priced at $279.99, which is $130 more than what HP was selling the 32 GB TouchPad for back in mid-August when it canceled the tablet. All in all, it's not a bad bundle deal and people will certainly use at least the case and stand with the TouchPad. Again, this sale is not live yet so come back at 2:30 pm Eastern time for your chance at owning some history.

Lol. Yeah because Tiger direct would never dream of taking advantage of the product interest to harvest data. It absolutely has to be an honest mistake. Let's just wait for them to come out and say that themselves as confirmation. Jesus people are naive.

I have proof that this is a SCAM. Ok when the clock count down to 0 The Buy Now appear. Ok but the link is like this

http://www.tigerdirect.com/cgi-bin/order.asp?EdpNo=1528865

Without Qty that they usually use. Ok, if you use above link. It will say Touchpad added to cart. But nothing in cart. That's why they said if there is nothing in cart, that means they sold out.

Ok, now is where they fail to hide their scammy tail. Go ahead and use this link with Qty=1

http://www.tigerdirect.com/cgi...asp?EdpNo=1528865&Qty=1

Walah, touch pad bundle now in cart. Go a head check out. After credit card etc, they redirect you back to a magically empty card.

What an *****ole way to do business. Neowin should not endorse TigerDirect anymore.

satus

Perhaps they were sold-out by the time you wanted to buy one. My father ordered one right at 2:30 pm ET and his order went through, even received a confirmation email from TigerDirect.

They dont even give out the correct order link. How could you order? I think you work for them. I witnessed the countdown and I am sure that I know what I see.

lol ok man, you caught me, my dad works for TigerDirect and most of the units were sold to TigerDirect employees. /sarcasm

You can throw whatever allegations you want because I honestly don't care what you think, I was merely trying to be helpful and let you know that some people were able to successfully place the order when the link went live. We tried to buy it back in August but it quickly sold-out so we were quicker on our feet this time around. btw, we don't even live in the US but we have a friend who lives there to whom the product will be shipped. So have fun steaming all you want Internet tough guy while we'll be enjoying this obsolete but fun toy.

Whatever makes you sleep at night but I can easily provide proof (the TigerDirect order confirmation and the product itself when it finally arrives at my doorstep) that would make you look like an incompetent fool.

Damn it. Add to cart at 0 countdown and 0 touchpad show up in cart. This must be a scam to earn new sign up... very fishy.

There website is down when you go to order, no surprise....
Weird thing is the Touchpads have been on sale on Amazon for awhile now at $230 16GB, and $260 32GB....

Guess people just want extra goodies or feel like they are getting a "deal."

Eh, I take back what I originally said because this is a 32 GB version, so it's not as bad as Best Buy forcing you to bundle with a computer, but still, this bundling crap to force you to spend more money is silly.

Very likely done to not only increase their profit margin but also likely to deter people from buying them up 10-20 at a time to flip 'em on fleaBay.

What about Android project for HP TP?
It's already there...They're porting Cyanogenmod to Touchpad, and it's in alpha stages, last I heard.

I got the 32GB Touchpad for $149, I'm pretty happy with it at that price point. Plus, WebOS is actually nice to use. I'll use my Android phone for CM7.
