Twitter is rolling out 'Timeline Highlights' feature

Twitter is in the middle of adding a number of new features and making some major changes to its platform in an effort to boost monetization and supposedly make users’ lives easier.

As part of that change a new feature is now rolling out to significant numbers of users. This new feature is dubbed “Timeline Highlights” and is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. Some users on the social network’s mobile apps now get to see a list of the most important tweets that were shared while they were offline.

This is one of the big changes that was announced back in November, alongside ‘instant timeline’, more media support and so on. Of course the big question here is how Twitter decides what “the best” tweets to highlight are and whether that proves useful to users.

Expect the roll-out to take a while before everyone encounters the new feature but in case you already have it you can drop us a comment and let us know if this is something you find useful.
