UK retailers out Nexus 7 launch date and price

Google’s latest toy affordable tablet has lots of folks excited, but so far we only knew limited info regarding its availability. Luckily for us, a UK retailer has outed the date that the new Nexus 7 is expected to start shipping on in The UK.

In a tweet to one of their customers Ebuyer mentioned that the Nexus 7 is expected to start shipping on the 29th of August , meaning folks who've pre-ordered the device don’t have to wait until the fall, as was previously expected.

PC World, another retailer, has the devices listed for a September 13th launch. According to them the new Nexus 7 will feature a price tag of £199.99 for the 16GB Wi-fi only version and £239.99 for the 32GB N7.

A LTE version was also announced for the US, but so far there’s no word on its availability outside of the States.

What the hell is with the childish "toy" comment. It's funny that people get warned for trolling around here given that staff do it all the time. Perhaps it's about time someone more neutral was asked to write Android articles here.

Yeah because it's specs are not that great either. It is afordable it is great on specs. Writing it this way makes it seem that the only reason people are buying it is because it is priced cheap.

Well, what did you expect from Neowin writers. The funny thing is, none of the upper management staff has ever addressed this issue. They just let it happen.

I went to Staples to have a look at the new Nexus 7, I love Android and the Android Gallery that syncs with Google Plus and Picasa, and Google Chrome, the device looks ok, the but screen is small

The Screen is 7 inches and the device is 9 inches or a bit less? It make the screen look very small, the 7 inch is much bigger than my Nexus 4 phone, but the device is much bigger, then the software buttons on screen (status bar and title bar, or whatever they are called) are taking more space from the screen

Next to it is the iPad Mini, the screen is 8 inches, but designed in a way to show you the device is just about right, not small, not big, just the right size for that category.

Why can't Asus and Google produce that?????

Companies have tried...then they get sued by Apple. Companies have to be really careful in their designs.
