US surfers flock to web video

More than 75 per cent of US internet users watched a streaming or progressive download video during November, averaging 3.25 hours per person. Research firm comScore said that Google sites, which include YouTube, increased video market share by more than two percentage points to 31.3 per cent from October to November.

I've always viewed things like YouTube as worse than TV.

TV shows at least have a storyline (even if bad ones) to follow. YouTube seems like a gathering place for mindless clips for those with short attention spans. Little real content or value.

Sort of like little clips of the Jackass movies.
