Watch Microsoft's Windows Phone event live stream right here!

We know that not everyone can make it out to San Francisco for the Windows Phone developer summit but it looks like Microsoft will be offering a live stream of the event which you can view by clicking the link below.

We expect to see Microsoft's vision for Windows Phone 8 as the invitation said that they will show a "sneak peek" at the upcoming platform. While Microsoft put on its best show in years on Monday with the announcement of the Microsoft Surface, it will be hard for them to trump that announcement as many of the Windows Phone 8 features leaked a few months back.

The event kicks off at 12PM EST/9AM PDT and Neowin is on the ground in San Francisco to get our hands on the new platform as soon as Microsoft pulls back the curtain. Make sure to check back soon as we expect the stream to go live in the very near future.

I have an idea. Seeing as most Windows 8 desktop applications (if not all) won't have live tiles for the Start Screen, why not provide the same quarter-size tiles as they will be providing with Windows Phone 8? It would make sense, and make the experience more consistent.

not on neowin, but many other website: google WP7.8

no i meant that they (as in MS) have not mentioned anything yet about current devices. all of the stories that just popped up, their source cant be the event stream.

Edit: I would like NFC and some other features, not sure what current devices will get; however the fact that WP7.8 will have the new start screen, so I'm good.

So I came in at... 'cool thing' #6, love the adjustable tiles he's currently showing. Did I miss where my HTC Titan won't be supported for an upgrade yet? =(

Would be nice to be able to reload comments here, without reloading the video stream. Or better yet, auto updating comments, newest at the top, so we can watch and chat.

Silverlight is messed up on this PC, shows "Loading" briefly, then blank white.

Got it working on my phone though...well kinda

Good lord does anyone actually listen to this song besides marketing promotions? cause it makes me feel physically uncomfortable.

Silverlight or Windows Media needed for the stream D:

Yup, and real-time DVR. You can pause and resume and skip back. Not sure I've seen nearly as good flash video play at this quality on flash ever. Love microsoft's silverlight video stuff.

I was moaning because no PC in the house has those plugins installed so I was scrambling to download it, and hasn't MS killed Silverlight? -.^

Can't watch it either. I know let's all stream an event with a codec/plugin that no one has or uses. lol

I checked out the link and there's "no session added". guess i'll just wait for 12 to get here. wonder what they're going to show. I'd love to see the features added this time around.

I hope we get an SDK and a developer ROM, that would be awesome!

Odds are high, this being a developer summit and all, I think a SDK is likely.

Yeah, that would certainly make sense. I hope a lot of new stuff has been exposed to developers.

Which would require Windows 8.

I was pretty sure VS 2012 didn't require Windows 8 as a minimum... I know it allowed me to install the Beta on Vista...

You are right I forgot BST.....

Not at the moment. We're on BST (British Summer Time) which is an hour ahead because of daylight savings.

Probably not, if they have a live stream, I don't think you can get anything faster than that...will be snapping pics and uploading images.
