Wednesday's PC game sales deals include lots of Sims games

It's Wednesday or as many of us call it "Hump Day". May 4 is also "Star Wars Day" which we have been told was selected because May 4 sounds a little like "May Force". In any case, Star Wars Day can also be called "Save money on PC games" day. Actually every day could be called that. Direct2Drive is using Star Wars Day as a way to have a sale of all of its Star Wars themed games as well as downloadable game guides. You can save 15 percent from these games if you put in the promo code MAYTHE4TH at check out

Let's start up today's deals at Steam who are in the middle of its daily list of games on sale from publisher Electronic Arts. Today's deal which expires at 1 pm Eastern time on Thursday, is all about The Sims. Steam has a ton of Sims and Sim City games today. The Sims 3 is on sale for $23.99 while two of its expansion packs World Adventures and Ambitions, are on sale as well for $14.99 each. Another expansion, Sims 3 Late Night, is on sale for $19.99. I was tempted by SimCity 4 but on the forums people are saying the game has issues on newer hardware. Shame

Is it the hardware or the OS? If the later, you can try running it on XP.

I have SC4 playing on windows 7 x64 on an intel i7 chip and a modern nVIDIA graphics card, what could possibly be the issue? Works fine for me

It's hit and miss, really. I'm on an i5-650 with a GTX 460, and have no issues running SC4.

Someone suggested earlier this week to format this better (i.e., a table listing the games, store, price, (link to review?), etc.)... would make this new game sale post tradition even more awesome.

In any case, thanks for the heads up!

I agree, this would make it a lot easier to just glance and go and get the information I needed to see if a game I was a fan of was cheap.
