Weekend Poll: Did you pre-order the Lumia 900?

It’s the weekend, which means that it is time for another poll. This week was a big one for Nokia as the Lumia 900 has gone on sale in the US and this marks the big return for the company as they get ready to sell their flagship device on US soil for the first time in many years.

The question for this week is, did you pre-order the Lumia 900? We know that Nokia will be pushing the product with a heavy advertising campaign to help raise awareness but if you are like us, you probably do not want to wait any longer to get your hands on this device.

There are two color options available for pre-order now, black and cyan, with white coming later this month and the device sells for $99.99 on a two year contract, or your can get if for free from Amazon

I sure did.. Full price too, but i'll get my money back selling this damn Samsung Skyrocket. If it wasn't for LTE I would still have the iPhone 4S. But I have always wanted a Windows Phone, so I am very excited.

I will wait at least until the Win Phone platform gets its own colour in market share stats charts. Until then I feel that Win Phone may be gone any second now.

Well this isn't like the Zune or Kin; it's something that Microsoft has really put a lot of effort in, even though the marketing could still be better. Plus it's not like the phone itself wouldn't work as well if Microsoft decided to stop doing it. Microsoft needs to be in the smartphone space, so it's very unlikely they'll stop WP development. Holding back doesn't seem too reasonable considering the circumstances.

I had a wndows phone for a little but sold it and went back to my Android phone. The OS is ok but I can do a lot more with Android since it has the apps. Hopefully T-Mobile has another WIn phone so I can take another look but not anytime soon.

What do you do with your phone actually??? Windows Phone has everything except official Pandora Radio and some games.

Pre-ordered @ full price ( I don't do contracts ) for my wife's b'day im waiting for the white one for myself. I usually get new phones every six months, my wife every year. I bought a Samsung Focus S back in November. I usually get my handsets in stores just to have employees and customers give me the "what??" no contract look but I felt lazy this time around.

I didn't pre-order because I'm buying it off contract and I can't spend nearly one whole paycheck on a phone. So I'll just break it into two =D Cant wait!

No. Nor will I order one later either.

Why on earth would I downgrade my magnificent white N9 with a phone that has an OS as weak and ugly as WP?

Windows Phone is ugly?? Huh? Really? Did you ever see it? You bought Nokia N9 and it proves that you know nothing about mobile platforms.

Windows Phone is ugly. But what does using it prove. Appearance is subjective after all. Someone calling it ugly is there opinion and therefore is not wrong.

Also, I own a Galaxy Nexus & an iPhone 4S. By your definition I know a lot about mobile platforms. After-all Android & iOS together have over 90% market share.

Don't sound so hurt. Move on.

I pre-ordered mine on the 30th, and was told that pre-ordered phones would arrive on 6 April. I just checked status and it shows "backordered". I'll be a bit disappointed if I can get the phone quicker by walking in the store on 9 April. But that does seem to suggest that demand for the device is much higher than they anticipated.

Maybe I'm missing the point, but how much can a y/n poll tell?

Where are the options such as "Yes - Moving from another platform," "Yes - Moving from another Windows Mobile/Phone device," "No - Already own a WP7 device," "No - Staying with another platform?"

I agree, this poll just ignites hate anyway.

I wonder how many WP7 fanboys voted yes to boost the numbers in this vote???

Or how many Fandroids or Apple fanboys voted "no" to skew it theother way. Sit down, shut up and color.

still1 said,

R u stupid??? Fandroids or Apple fanboys will never buy a windows phone so their vote is true... but Wp7 fanboys could vote yes even if they have not bought it..
now you Sit down, shut up and color.... i understand you are butt hurt but deal with it.

I think your jealousy makes you more butt hurt than him.

oh boy... i am jealous... i am jealous that wp7 is the no one seller in the world... and lumia sold about 200 million in 6 months..... haha yeah i am jealous

Cøi said,

I am also jealous because lumia have sold about 2 million til date and the least expected Galaxy Note sold like 5 million in 5 months.. Its laughable.... not even close.. iphone sold like 1.7 million in 3 days and lumia 2 million in 6 months..
Oh wait.... now i understand.... you guys are hurt by my comment because you have not pre ordered one but yet you voted yes...

You shouldn't make random assumptions, I didn't vote anything as I'm not even a WP user.

that was the whole point here... Dont you think WP7 fanboys wouldn't have done that??? maybe you didn't do it because you were being honest but sure many would have done that and that was my initial post too.

Nope. Played around a bit with Windows Phones in the store a couple times, they're pretty nice, but not enough reason to switch away from my Android yet. Plus I can't stand AT&T.

I wish, but I've just bought my Titan in November with a 2 year contact from AT&T. I love it, but Nokia looks so nice (and I like the featured apps). Ah, I need to escape from my contact!

I did. Played with a demo unit they had and loved it. They couldn't figure out how to let me preorder it w/o giving me the discounted rate. So I got it for $99. Now I don't have to sell my iphone4. I love the weight of it. It has the heft of iPhone. I owned the focus and focus s and disliked how light they were. They just felt cheap.

I didn't because i hate at&t and don't use them, but if it was on Verizon, I would have... two people at work did, and am waiting to see how nice it is

Same here. When Verizon gets off their butt and releases some good Windows Phones, that would be great. I'd be buying one right away. Looking forward to WP8 actually and hoping Nokia gets some devices on Verizon.

25GB free SkyDrive without the device overhead of having an external card slot reader? Yes please.

Seems you didn't consider those who have a limited data plan, or perhaps you missed the Skydrive file size limit imposed by Microsoft. That isn't a solution at all. I use approximately 26GB on my Droid with most of my content being multimedia files. Don't get me wrong; I don't have anything against WP but a plain 16GB of Local storage is TOTALLY unacceptable.

yowanvista said,

I will never turn down the option to add a microSD. But despite having 4G of music, and my favorite TV episodes, I can't fill 16G. But with the next generation that supports uSD, I will put in a 32 just to satisfy the geek in me and I will most likely never fill it in the phone's lifespan. So +1 cuz, yeah, and -1 cuz it's actually not needed, ::shrug::

2GB Data caps + $10 charge for 1GB No Thank you.

In their defense, it IS frustrating that when we KNOW the OS supports larger memory sizes that no OEM has seen fit to build that in. I have the original Focus, sporting a 32GB card and I only have 8GB left. BTW, AT&T has two (realistic) data plans: 3GB and 5GB. I stream a lot while driving (when we're within a decent signal range, of course) but I haven't quite hit the original 2GB plan. The reason for having more memory stems from one need: media. There really is no need for huge amounts of memory outside of that. I maintain a LOT of my music collection on my Focus specifically because 3G coverage is so limited out here on the border that I couldn't stream if I wanted to in most areas. When coverage improves I won't need as much storage on the phone. That being said, though, the WP8 devices will support pretty much all the hardware you'd want.

Not much of a tech guy that signs a 2 year contract for a phone OS he doesn't like.

Right, so you complain about Metro in every topic on here, and you expect us to believe you even went out and bought a Windows Phone in the first place.

obvious troll is obviously trolling. You'd have better luck if the first Gen windows phones weren't just 18 months old.

I did get Windows very early, wanted to give it a chance however it lacks software and touch screen doesn't work for me therefore i am going back to Blackberry (non touch screen). I did not mention Metro which works fine for Phone. People get a clue before jumping in any type of conclusion.

I agree on the software part, I'm quite envious of all my iPhone/Android toting friends that can play the latest fad game, but having said that, if your touchscreen doesn't work, take it back for a new one. The touchscreen should work perfectly.

Actually, I think windows phone has the overall edge in gaming and game performance plus xbox integration. It doesn't however have Infinity Blade

I do still have iPhone/iPad lifestyle app envy. MS needs to fix the bluetooth situation preventing some add-on peripherals and help or encourage devs to use the USB port. I think the design guide should control placement of the micro-usb port to facilitate 3rd party addons.

I do keep my iPhone and iPad around for a fitness app that syncs with my desktop, but really that's all that's missing along with some peripheral devices.

Touch screen doesn't work? What kind of nonsense is this? It's easily the most responsive touch screen I've ever used...

Are you f-ing kidding me? You are not satisfied with WP touch? OK, then you are....

That's different than claiming it doesn't work... lol If it's personal taste, that's fine, but then the posts can at least reflect that and be factual... Not a whole lot to ask.

People misinterpreted Techguy77's statement. He said it doesn't work for HIM. He could have said, "touchscreen doesn't do it for me" and meant the same thing. That being said, why someone would want to go back to a platform that is near death is beyond me.

You gotta look at the whole context. That's why he's going back to a non-touch screen blackberry. Maybe his English is not good but all-in-all people are flaming him because they disagree with his personal preferences is absurd.

Nope! My first gen focus is still going strong, I'll wait until WP8 is out and upgrade then.

Same here. My first gen HD7 with 32GB microSD is working wonders, so no need to upgrade yet untill WP8. The Lumia 900 is a great smartphone to have however. But IF I had to upgrade now I'd go with the Titan II. That is a monster of a smartphone.

Yeah, same here. I hope Nokia has some amazing WP8 phones coming to Verizon...

I'm waiting to see what WP8 is like. Its a decent phone, but I know that better devices are 6 months away. They will be a major leap over the 900, but for those who can't wait, I think the 900 is an excellent choice if you are interested in Windows Phone.
