White House was also victim of cyber attacks

Earlier today Neowin covered news about how Barack Obama and John McCain suffered cyber attacks during their summer campaigning, but more details have been released on how the White House was also a target. During the attacks on the White House computer network, Chinese hackers managed to take emails that were sent between government officials and took information from them before the technicians patched the system.

Though not confirmed, an official who spoke to FT.Com suspected that the Chinese government was behind these attacks saying "We are getting very targeted Chinese attacks so it stretches credulity that these are not directed by government-related organizations", he also admitted that it can be very hard to track down the source of the attacker due to different servers in different countries.

This is not the first time the US have sustained cyber attacks quite recently the Pentagon came under constant attacks in search of information and it did achieve its goal in retrieving information if only for a short time until the network was taken down so it could be patched and repaired. The US have tried to cover themselves abroad as well by putting restrictions on high ranking officials from using their mobile devices or personal computers in certain countries incase they were infiltrated.

ONE WORLD, ONE COUNTRY, ONE MOTTO, DIFFRENT RELIGIONS, ONE HUMAN KIND, FREEDOM, NOTHING TO HIDE,

UNIMAGINABLE GROWTH FOR HUMAN KIND --- IF ONLY WE COULD REALISE AND ACCEPT ! ! !

I am sure that the US government/ DoD knows what they are doing and they have more information to make a decision from then us trying to analyze world politics etc. Pakistan has been a F-16 customer for quite a while now and when there was concern at one stage about the possible use of the jets they were embargoed. Now pakistan is a valuable ally. Just my thoughts

This is nothing compared to US selling F-16's to Pakistan [ read China ]. It can not get worse than getting targetted by your own merchandise.

what ??

indians indians indians ... i've sick n tired of your hate spreading BS you guys just dont read the topic ... just post what you got to say against Pakistan and hit submit button .. grow up kids !!

These days encryption serves no purpose...
Governments can't afford not using something like the Internet to exchange data. But sensitive data should most definitely be kept out of non-secure networks (such as the Internet). Doesn't seem to be the case of the US...

Dear US governement,

Please get a F****ing clue and take senstive data and communications OFF the damn WWW!!! Create your own secure network and keep it unplugged from the rest of the world you idiots! Why does a plain 'ol citizen see this and not the people in charge? No amount of encryption, safeguards and security protocols will be enough. As long as its connected to the internet, it'll be vulnerable.
