White iPhone 4 due 'Spring 2011'

We all knew that the mystical white iPhone 4 was eventually going to show up, it's just been a matter of when. Now we have a semi-official timeframe for this release. 9to5mac has spotted an AT&T print that clearly states that the iPhone 4 will be available in Spring 2011 (or Autumn 2011 for those of us under the equatorial line). Exciting for some, we're sure – it’ll certainly match the rest of Apple's white products.

But this isn't where the news stops. Neowin has further information that suggests that the white iPhone 4 will be accompanied by a revision of the black iPhone 4 – both featuring an improved antenna, hopefully eliminating that little problem that Apple tried so hard to ignore, and then correct with free bumpers.

Apple has yet to comment on the delays, nor give an official release date for the white iPhone 4. For those of you that have forgotten what the white iPhone 4 even looks like, here's a reminder:

I'm not trying to be smart ass. For real, why is it so hard to just produce the casing in another color? Especially white? Or any other color for that matter? I honest to god do not understand this.

Because the white Steve Jobs wanted vs what he was getting wasn't suficient. The white wasnt white enough as rumors say. The light from the screen was also seen through the case.

And of course they had to fix teh antenna.

Thanx for the reply. I thought by 2010, getting white to whatever color or shade your wanted it at would not be that big of a process...especially for a multi-billion dollars company, just doesn't all add up to me.

Eww, reminds me of the touch nano, except that induced projectile vomiting. this only resulted in temporary blindness. White on everything up to the 3Gs, iP4 WTFWTSOAAHQ! (What teh f*** were they smoking over at apple HQ... probably some pretty nasty stuff)

The sad thing is that they've had the cases manufactured for quite some time (there was an article on Neowin recently about Apple suing some guy that was selling DYI conversion kits).

Or maybe we'll be seeing a page like ''Tomorrow is a day that you will never forget''. And next day a white iPhone is launched!

What are the odds that the White case will only be available for Verizon subscribers? If I was a marketing consultant, I would totally do a 180 day launch so the white case was part of the Verizon transition. New Carrier, New Case...
Just a thought.

All this hype over a device that is already out, but in a diff color. The only thing white offers, besides user preference, is that it looks cleaner and doesnt show fingerprints as easily either.

But shows any other dirt a lot easier, too.

They should add more GBs to it.

They should add more internetz while they are at it. Would be nice for a true 4G device to come out on a network that actually meets the standard of 100Mbps. The closest thing available is T-Mobiles "4G" network which is still 79Mbps off of being a real 4G network. Surprised they haven't been sued for false advertisement yet.

From what I've heard, don't expect true 4G until the end of this next decade. As in 2019ish. But I agree, they shouldn't be calling it 4G if there is an actual standard for 4G and what the providers are offering doesn't come close. Thats false advertisement and a bit of a insult to the standardization body.

Would love a 64GB version. I could finally fit my entire music and movie collection, rather than having to pick what to sync.

true 4G just in time as 5G being all over the news ?? due out say 2021 ?

they said they will standardize 4G(LTE advanced) in late 2011/early 2012 .......

anyway wireless technologies most of the time are 80% efficient so 80mb/s sound right

The 4G stand has already been finalized and none of the existing technology is anywhere near it. According to the standard, it takes a 100Mbps down speed. The fastest in the market today is T-Mobile with there 21Mbit down speed so they are only 21% of what the standard requires.
