Windows Phone 8 Jessica Alba and Gwen Stefani TV ads debut

The barrage of TV ads for Windows Phone 8 continues here in the US. This week, two more ads showed up online featuring actress Jessica Alba and No Doubt lead singer Gwen Stefani promoting Microsoft's latest mobile OS.

Alba, who also appeared for Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 event in San Francisco a few weeks ago, shows off her Nokia Lumia 920 device from AT&T in her TV ad. The emphasis is on the Kid's Corner feature, which lets adults give their smartphone to their children but locks them into a family friendly portion of the phone.

Stefani's TV ad is short as she shows off her Live Tiles screen of her HTC Windows Phone 8X device from Verizon. The quick TV spot seems to be all about increasing and decreasing the Live Tiles on the phone's main screen.

As we mentioned earlier, UK personalities James Corden and Holly Willoughby have done their own Windows Phone 8 TV ads, while AT&T has recruited Will Arnett to promote the Nokia Lumia 920 in the US, Jay-Z is rumored to be joining the promotional bandwagon for the mobile OS but so far his TV ad has yet to appear.

I still don't know what a "Hollaback Girl" is...

I think it's a foul, disease-ridden thing, that wears too much makeup to cover up the fact that it's a 47 year-old fish-dog.

I actually LOVE these ads!!! Loving the new campaign about each phone is suited for you. I'm glad celebrities are jumping on the train too as people know them and they can show how each Windows Phone is a representation of you.

they could use topless page 3 models to try and sell these phones and it still wont make me want to buy one. its about the hardware and what it can do compared to the others that matters.

but its better than marketing your products in a way that your customers look like i-diots.

i guess ms are trying hard to push these devices to the young hipsters who will fap over a device because there favourite celeb has one.

Really? tell me which phone has better screen and camera than Nokia 920.

Good product terrible advertising. I just hope they sort out advertising one day this decade because like many before them it will be the death of them.

the kids corner is presented in a convincing way and can be a buy argument of its own. it should be explained better tho, that this happens on the same phone. yes i know, to all of us this is crystal clear, but believe me, to a vast majority who is not into this kind of tech this is not so obvious.

I have to say that the latest Windows Phone 8 ads are quality. Even the ones above. I'm not a fan of the celebrities, but they do show how Windows Phone 8 is different, and that it works well/is consistent - which is what you want in an OS.

Apple's ads, on the other hand, no longer have the same effect as they used to.

Nothing worse, IMO, than when some comapny has to hire some wanna be talent to try and promote their stuff!!

So I guess you weren't a fan of the Mac vs PC ads either?

companies use celebrities, get over it.

don't watch it if you are against it that much.

Wanna be talent? Erm ... love or hate them, they've proven their worth far more as talented than you have ...
