Windows Phone is the best place to spend mobile advert dollars

When you live inside the advertising bubble, click through rates (CTR) are your driving metric and Windows Phone is winning in that race. In a new report from Smaato for Q3, Windows Phone was on top of all other platforms in CTR with Symbian coming in second and RIM pulling in third place and yes we will forgive Smaato for using an outdated Windows Phone icon.

This information should come as music to Microsoft's ears as they are looking to promote Windows Phone to all walks of life. With new information showing that Windows Phone has the highest CTR when compared to its competitors, it should help the company attract advertisers to its mobile platform. This was also the third consecutive quarter that Microsoft has topped this category.

While it is a small victory for Microsoft, it does show that the platform is gaining traction in areas outside of the traditional adoption rate too. Yes, the other platforms do have greater saturation in the marketplace but with Microsoft rolling out new hardware, new features, and now also helping advertisers get more traction too, the platform begins to show its true roots as a competitor in the marketplace.

Windows Phone has a lot of momentum going into the holiday season and if Microsoft and its partners are able to move many devices this season, you can bet that Windows Phone will a serious driving force in 2012.

No surprise. I am using Android and I never click on those Ads. Neither did I on my desktop. I have been having an ads blindness for a long time. I made those clicks when I started using computer.

For the iPhone, users pay more for a quality feel with less obtrusive ads - so this is completely expected. In other words, it is in line with the Apple ecosystem. As for Android, for being the apparent "cheaper" product that was designed as an advertising platform (with some quality devices that carry the latest in technology), this cannot be considered very good news at all. Surprising, considering that the mother of Android is Google. MS, it appears, is winning Google's game.

This is quite true actually. I have used several free apps on WP and I have noticed that the ads on WP gain my attention very well. The ads also do several animations to catch the attention of the user. In fact I have clicked the ads several times on WP. On Android I had clicked ads only 1-2 times at the most even after using it for like 8 months.

and i hope Nokia comes out with more similar hardware but with FFC and other features.
Their design playing a big part in how well its selling. And for the first time good marketing efforts by MS are helping this platform gain recognition.

the fandroids and isheeps will always disagree with the part you said wp7 is gaining traction... Because when they hear how well lumia 800 n the titan are doing...
