Wing Commander creator gets back into gaming

If you are a long time fan of PC gaming, then you most likely know about the Wing Commander franchise. Created by Chris Roberts, the space combat game series was one of the most popular in the 1990s. Now Roberts has announced he will be getting back into the game industry with a new title that will be revealed on October 10th.

Roberts has already launched a teaser site, which requires a password to check out more content (we will give you a hint; the password is 42). Roberts has also launched a Facebook page with a cover image that seems to show that he will be making a Wing Commander-like title.

For the past several years, Roberts has been working as a movie producer on films such as Lucky Number Slevin, Outlander and others. Now, in a message posted on the password-protected teaser site, Roberts states his reasons to return to the game industry, saying:

With the power of today’s computers and the reach of the internet I finally feel I have the tools to build the connected experience that I always dreamed of. A world that would be more satisfying and richer than any film I could work on. With films you tell stories but with games you create worlds.
