YouTube ToGo Launching June 2007 for U.S

Last year we heard from Co-founder Chad Hurley, announcing that YouTube Mobile will be arriving in 2007. Today a spokesmen for YouTube, announced that "YouTube ToGo" will launch June 2007 for U.S users and May 2007 for EU users. The mobile service will include around 800 "editorial picks" of user created content videos. The spokesman explains that this is somewhat of an experiment to see what kind of response they will receive, but the goal is create a truly mobile experience with access to the entire YouTube video catalog.

There is also a demo link which has apparently been blocked. A blogger has taken a screenshot of the demo site formatted on his Nokia 6680. Click here.

I'm quite shocked something has actually been released in Europe before U.S.

Thank you YouTube! I'll be using this for sure.

I have newfound respect for YouTube ... for launching the service in Europe first and for not ignoring the market ... or doing an Apple and releasing a late and inferior service, like iTunes, which has no real video content in Europe and they try to sell AppleTV which only plays iTunes junk.

YouTube good job!
