although there are free alternatives (gom and KMP) i switched to zoom and happily pay for it

KMPlayer is good but it lacks support for a lot of subtitling and messes them up. same with GOM. and with MPC you have to install codec packs (which can be a good or bad thing. for me it was bad) and it's very slow to recover and start playing when you skip 5 seconds or seek to the middle of a video

so i switched to Zoom. it plays anything you through at it, it installs / manages / configures / updates all the codecs that it uses automatically (no conflicts), it seeks and skips instantly with no delay, and most importantly of all it supports any and all subtitles effects & formats. and yes, it has just as many features as the other players out there

Otaku need their subtitles to be perfect :cheeky:

subtitles dont work for you? ... i never had a problem using subtitles and skipping forward or back is pretty close to instant (if not instant) with KMPlayer ;)

as far as MPC + ffdshow... that works good but i dont like how it loads more crap in the taskbar when playing a video file ... i figure about the only thing better about MPC over KMPlayer is it loads up a littl quicker but it's probably due to it dont have as much stuff to load since it's more basic than KMPlayer is.

no thanks.. with FREE stuff like The KMPlayer and Gom Player etc.... whats the point in PAYING for a player? , when those players can pretty much do it all
