Intel graphics driver 27.20.100.8681 adds support for Halo 3: ODST and PES 2021

Intel has once again released a new update to its DCH graphics drivers for Windows 10 devices, bringing it up to version number 27.20.100.8681. Despite taking a while to release and a significant build number jump, this release has one of the shortest changelogs yet. The driver adds support for two recently released (or announced) titles - eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2021 and Halo 3: ODST, which should be playable on devices with Intel Iris Plus Graphics or higher.

Aside from the newly-added support for those games, this release fixes a single issue, where players might have observed soma graphics anomalies in Total War Three Kingdoms on 10th-generation Intel processors with Iris Plus Graphics.

As usual, the release also has a couple of known issues, but even that list is relatively short this time around. Here's what you need to look out for:

  • Intermittent crash or hang may be seen in Red Dead Redemption 2* (Vulkan), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare* (DX12), Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint* (DX11), Horizon Zero Dawn* (DX12) on 10th Generation Intel Core processors with Intel Iris Plus graphics.
  • Minor graphics anomalies may be observed in PGA Tour 2K21*, Battlefield V* (DX12), Rage 2* (Vulkan), Star Wars Battlefront 2* (DX12), Control* (DX12).

As far as compatibility goes, the new driver keeps in line with previous releases. Any version of Windows 10 since the Fall Creators Update (version 1709) is supported, up to the latest general release. In terms of hardware, sixth-generation Intel Core processors and newer are supported, as well as related Intel Pentium and Celeron processors. Intel Xeon E3 processors with Intel HD Graphics P530, P630, or Intel Iris Pro Graphics P580 are also supported, and Intel's new processors with Intel Hybrid Technology, also known as Lakefield, are supported as well.

The new driver can be downloaded from Intel's website in both EXE and ZIP formats to suit your preference. The full release notes can be found here.
