Acer Swift 7 unboxing and first impressions

This year"s Acer Swift 7 weighs in at just 1.96 pounds, making it one of very few, if any laptops that weigh in at under two pounds. Yes, this PC is wildly light, and that"s what you should be buying it for. If you want something you can put in your bag and feel like nothing is there, this is probably for you.

Announced at CES this year, there are some significant improvements over last year"s model. Most importantly, the trackpad is clickable now, and the display supports touch. That means that the body is a bit thicker this time around at 9.95mm, which is still incredibly thin. And of course, the design is still fanless.

Another big change is that the massive chin is gone, as all of the bezels have been shrunken down. With 2.57mm side bezels, that results in a 92% screen-to-body ratio, for one of the smallest footprints on a 14-inch laptop on the market.

It"s made out of magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminum alloys, which is why it can be so light. Check out our unboxing video below:
