Huawei refreshes its MateBook X Pro with Comet Lake and an Emerald Green color

Today, Huawei announced its latest iteration of the MateBook X Pro, its flagship Windows 10 laptop. For the most part, the chassis remains the same, sporting a small footprint due to the 91% screen-to-body ratio, a large trackpad, one USB Type-A port, and two Thunderbolt 3 ports. It also has the same 13.9-inch 3000x2000 display.

The one change in design is that it comes in a new Emerald Green color, which is stamped with a gold Huawei logo instead of black. It weighs in at 1.33kg and comes in at 14.6mm thin, and if green isn"t for you, you can still get Mystic Silver or Space Gray.

The other big change is that it now comes with Intel"s 10th-generation Core processors; more specifically, it comes with Comet Lake. The two options are the Core i5-10210U and Core i7-10510U, both of which are quad-core, so there"s no option with the hexa-core Core i7-10710U. Comet Lake doesn"t have Iris Plus Graphics like Ice Lake does, but the good news is that the MateBook X Pro offers an Nvidia GeForce MX250 GPU, the same that was in last year"s model.

"As an ultra-slim flagship notebook, the all-new HUAWEI MateBook X Pro epitomises Huawei’s signature design and craftsmanship. Meanwhile, the breakthroughs in the touch-enabled Ultra FullView display, power consumption, performance and all-scenario connectivity empower consumers to stay productive anytime, anywhere. The premium aesthetics, innovative technology and intelligence are engrained in the DNA of the MateBook X Pro Series, and the latest iteration exemplifies that heritage. It is our most powerful, portable and intelligent all-purpose device yet, and we’re excited to bring that to the hands of consumers," said Wang Yinfeng, President of PC and Tablet Product Line, Huawei Consumer BG.

Huawei is also introducing an improvement to its Huawei Share feature. With the previous model, you could tap your Huawei phone against the keyboard deck to transfer files. Now, you can use it for screen sharing.

The new MateBook X Pro is coming this April to Europe, Asia Pacific, Russia, Latina America, Japan, and the Middle East, and there are three configurations. For a Core i5, 16GB RAM, and a 512GB SSD, that will run you €1,499. That same model but with the MX250 GPU will cost €1,699, and then there"s a model with a Core i7, 16GB RAM, a 1TB SSD, and the MX250 for €1,999.
