Microsoft announces Your Phone, for a window into your phone from your Windows 10 PC

Joe Belfiore"s Microsoft 365 keynote isn"t until tomorrow, but Microsoft has spilled the beans on some of the news that he"ll be sharing. Along with Timeline coming to Microsoft Launcher, Belfiore will announce Your Phone, a new UWP app that will connect your phone with your PC.

The app allows for a "seamless transition of content" between the two devices, which includes things like messages, notifications, and photos. For example, you"ll be able to take a photo that"s on your phone and drag it into a document without ever having to unlock your device.

Microsoft has been hard at work on the task of continuity between Windows 10 and mobile devices that run Android and iOS. Along with Timeline working in Microsoft Launcher and Edge on iOS and Android, it"s also introduced features like Continue on PC and apps like Photos Companion.

Your Phone is different from the Phone Companion app that was recently retired in the Windows 10 April 2018 Update. Microsoft says that the app will roll out to Insiders soon, not making it clear if it will be a Redstone 5 exclusive. However, anyone can download it from the Microsoft Store right now, for the time being, at least.
