Microsoft is bringing a much needed feature to Teams

Microsoft recently detailed all the new features that it introduced in Teams during the past month. We also covered some of the new capabilities on their way to Teams soon, and now, it seems the Redmond tech giant has even more in store for Teams customers than initially presumed.

According to an update made to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap today, Microsoft will soon give Teams users the option to hide the entire meeting control toolbar, giving them more screen real estate during meetings. This is a very useful setting that will persist across meetings, provided that you set it as your preference. The good thing about this implementation is also that you"ll be able to bring up the toolbar again using hover or by pressing the Tab key, and that keyboard shortcut to toggle toolbar controls will remain active, regardless of whether it is visible or not. This feature is coming to Windows and Mac customers in March.

Another nifty enhancement on its way to Teams improves the image viewer. Users will soon be able to scroll through all images shared in a conversation, with the header also showing the original message so that you can navigate to it directly. This is coming to Windows, Mac, and Linux in March 2026 as well.

A smaller improvement in tow will sync your recently used emoji across Windows and mobile, so that you don"t have to perform extra clicks to use a frequent emoji. This is slated for next month, too. In the same month, navigation across code blocks on Windows and Mac will be made easier through better keyboard controls and line numbers. Users will also be able to "set code language quickly and reference specific lines for improved collaboration and workflow."

As is evident, Microsoft has a lot planned for Teams customers in the coming months. You can also check our previous roundup in this regard.
