Rufus 4.10 is out with dark mode, new Secure Boot certificates support, and more

Rufus is one of the most popular apps for creating bootable USB drives and bypassing Windows 11"s hardware requirements. This small utility is feature-packed, and its latest update makes it even better.

After spending about two weeks at the beta stage, Rufus 4.10 stable is out for everyone. This release is notable for a few reasons. For one, Rufus now supports dark mode, which is a welcome change for those who like to keep the lights off. Next, Rufus 4.10 brings support for Windows CA 2023, Microsoft"s newest Secure Boot certificates, which replace the soon-expiring original certificates. The latest update lets you create media with Windows CA 2023. Just keep in mind that you need a Windows 11 version 25H2 ISO for that (you can already download Windows 11 version 25H2 images). You can read more about Windows CA 2023 compatibility in Rufus 4.10 in the FAQ section on GitHub.

Other changes include the ability to save an existing drive as ISO, improved error reporting and persistence support for Linux Mint, and a few fixes. Here is the complete changelog:

  • Add Dark Mode support (courtesy of @ozone10)
  • Add support for creating Windows CA 2023 compatible media (requires a Windows 11 25H2 ISO).
  • Add support for saving an existing drive to ISO (UDF only)
  • Improve error reporting when saving to VHD/VHDX (with thanks to @Kazkans)
  • Improve persistence support for Linux Mint
  • Fix UEFI DBX updates being reported in some timezones, even when there are none
  • Fix a situation where no file system can be selected in ISO mode
  • Fix a crash when trying to process Windows ISOs with very long paths

Rufus 4.10 is now available for download from GitHub and the official website. You can also update to the latest version from an existing installation.
