Two Point Hospital releasing on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Switch later this year

Two Point Studios delivered a spiritual successor to Theme Hospital last year with Two Point Hospital for PC, a humorous hospital management title made with several minds from the original game behind its development. That PC exclusivity, however, is ending this year, as a console edition was announced today, coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.

An exact date for this new edition wasn"t revealed today, with Two Point Studios and Sega - which acquired the developer earlier this year - only saying it will release in late 2019. The studio said that the game is being "fully rebuilt" for the new audience, focusing on controller and handheld gameplay. The latter should mean the game will support the upcoming Nintendo Switch Lite console.

“Bringing Two Point Hospital to console is something we always envisioned when starting up Two Point Studios in 2016,” said Two Point Studios game director Mark Webley. “Our community’s number one question since launch has been: ‘when is Two Point Hospital coming to consoles?’. Well, it is happening and we are very excited.”

Many of the PC features that arrived as post-launch updates, like room layout copy-pasting, character customization, and others, will be included from the get-go in the new Two Point Hospital console edition. Also, the game"s Pebberley Island and Bigfoot DLC will be included for free with this release for console players.
