Xiaomi debuts its latest handset, the Redmi Go

Xiaomi has a tendency to release a plethora of handsets over the course of a year. Today, the firm has announced a new entry in its budget-friendly Redmi line with the introduction of the Redmi Go.

The Redmi Go incorporates a relatively familiar design, packs a 5-inch 720p display, and is powered by a Snapdragon processor that can top out at 1.4GHz. Alternate sources are suggesting that this processor could be Qualcomm"s Snapdragon 425 SoC paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

As far as cameras go, the unit will make use of an 8MP rear shooter, while the front-facing camera will be a 5MP unit. The handset will also have a relatively large battery for its size coming in at 3,000mAh. Although the tweet from Xiaomi offers very little information about the phone, WinFuture reports that the phone will be made available for under $90.

Naturally, more details about its pricing and availability should become available as more time passes. For now, those interested will have to be patient.
