Blank screen with Powershot A70
by trenzterra- 14 replies
- 6.6k views
Hi, I have a Canon Powershot A70, owned it for about a year now. I have a problem that surfaced recently... After a trip back from Malaysia with my camera, it seems that sometimes the LCD shows nothing but black. When I take a pic and review it later, it also shows black. There is nothing wrong with the LCD as I can preview photos in the preview mode and also edit changes with the LCD screen. After a while, the LCD shows the image again. However, when I turn it on a few hours later, the same problem occurs. What's wrong?

[Batteries] AA Energizer Recharbable
by Dallas- 14 replies
- 4.4k views
Anyone who owns a camera needs batteries. Most point and shoot cameras now a days use AA batteries. And they use them fast. Everyone nees a good set rechargables, and of course a charger. I recommend Energizer rechargable batteries. They are NiMH (type of rechargable battery) and they are 2500mAh, some of the highest capacity batteries on the market now. You can get a set of 4, with a 4 hour charger, for under $20. It is WELL worth the investment. The charger charges them fully in about 4 hours, and has an auto cut-off. It also charges AAA, which is awsome. I have filled my canon powershot's 128mb card (about 110 photos) up twice with these before they needed to be char…

okay, I currently own a Sony DSC-T1. I've had it for a year and a half now, and was mostly an impusle buy with my graduation money, I didn't put much time into looking at reviews for it but it's been an excellent little camera. Well, It's time for a new camera and i've been doing a lot of research the last few days. These are the cameras i've looked at: Canon Powershot G6 Canon PowerShot S70 Canon Powershot SD500 Canon PowerShot S2 IS Sony DSC-W7 Sony DSC-H1 Basically, I'm looking for a camera that takes great pictures, but also takes great video and that narrowed my search a lot. The G6, S70 and SD500 all have very crappy video modes, you can only take a few minut…

Purchasing a digital camera
by dragon2611- 11 replies

Im looking to spend up to ?200 on a new digital camera. I'm more interested in zoom than the number of megapixels i want a digtial camera with good zoom as my current camera has 3x optical and 2.7x digtal but i find the optical isn't enough and i prefer not to use digital zoom if i can avoid it. Im looking for at least 7x optical zoom and the more the better. I was looking at a minota dimage Z3 as it seems to be within my price range and it has 12x optical zoom and anti-shake which i think will be very helpfull when using the higher zoom levels. Can anyone comment on this camera or reccomend something better for the price range.

My new Olympus C-7000 just arrived! Shot a couple pictures off and all I can say is, WOW. For an inexpensive (sub $400) digital camera, this thing can take some awesome pictures! This picture was taken in HQ (second highest quality mode) not SHQ (highest quality) Have a look: http://tdavis.stinsons.com/images/P9220001.JPG

P&S underwater camera recommendations
by Sjokkel- 5 replies
- 3.5k views
I've been in to photography for a while now. I'm using a canon 20D at the moment and i love it. I just recently moved from Belgium to Curacao to work here. Since i'm a diver and diving here each weekend i'm really missing an underwater camera. I could buy a housing for my 20D but that would turn out pretty costly and be too big to take with me on each dive. I just want a small camera to take with me just in case we spot something nice. Can anybody recommend me a nice CF P&S camera & housing for my diving photography? thx

Cheap quality digital camera?
by Shoop- 0 replies
I am looking for a cheap digital camera. But I want it to produce good images. Most digital cameras leave a low quality image. These are the things I'm bothered about: 1: Price to be ?100ish ... I would probably go up to ?150. 2: Clear high quality images 3: USB compatible 4: Zoom 5: More than 16 MB of space. Does anyone think they can help me out please? Thanks.

Well, its time I upgrade my Canon a70 to something else. I am basically looking for a nice point and shoot camera, that will not blur the images out if I am not holding the camera perfectly still. (which my canon does right now). So far I found 4 cameras that are about the size + features I am looking for. But which is the best bang for the buck? Sony Cyber-shot? DSC-T5 Digital CameraspacerDSC-T5/B ($399.00) Kodak EASYSHARE V550 Zoom Digital Camera ($291.00) Panasonic Lumix? DMC-FX9K ($378.00) Casio EX-S500 Series Exilim Card Camera ($328.00) Or if there is any other cameras you guys can suggest that are small, ones that will fit in your pocket and take decent s…

Hi, I'm after entering the digital camera market for the first time, soon - and don't really have any knowledge about digicams other than what I read on sites like this, and from word of mouth etc. So I was wondering if you could help me out in finding one to suit my needs. desired spec; cost anywhere up to ?250 (can go higher if entirely necessary) decent styling has the ability to take decent, close (indoor & outdoor) macro shots preferably 5mp - i know thats probably a lot for a novice user, but i plan to blow some pictures up to A3 and larger sizes. adequate optical zoom (not bothered about digital zoom) compatability with OSX I was looking at the…

Digital Camera For 100 Nicker
by fuel925- 4 replies

I'm going on holiday in a week or so, and want to buy a digital camera. I've wanted one for a while but this is a good excuse to go out and get one. I only want to spend ?100, i'm not a hardcore camera enthusiast, I just want to take pictures of the various places I visit (i'm a regular day-tripper / holidaymaker). My MAIN priority when choosing a camera is quality. I'm not expecting professional results, but blurry, crap images are not acceptable. Size is also something I want to bear in mind, smaller the better, but not if it compromises quality and / or features! Taking video on the camera, digital zoom and other similar gimmicks are not necessary, i'm not going to …
