As the title states, what is your preferred cartridge for your self-defense concealed carry pistol? There are a lot of controversies among different manufactures of ammunition and more importantly their reliability or lack thereof. My concealed carry weapon of choice is the Kahr PM9. I chose this particular pistol based on its reliability, it's compact package even for a 9mm round and it's accuracy. Also the comfortability factor has a huge significance, a 9mm subcompact that weighs just over a pound (loaded) makes for a great choice in an every day concealed carry weapon. Now to get into cartridge choice. Many will say a bullet is a bullet, but with the advanced techno…

Harrington & Richardson 12 Gauge Shotgun
by Gerowen- 4 replies
- 5.9k views
Just thought I'd share, I went out to the range today and got to fire one of my favorite weapons. It's my Harrington & Richardson 12 gauge magnum shotgun. It can fire shells up to 3" in length, and is a single shot, break action weapon. It only weighs a couple of pounds and kicks like a mule, hence the recoil pad you see on the butt-stock of the weapon. Since I'm at a public rifle range, I wasn't able to use buckshot, so in this video I'm shooting 2 3/4" slugs. I was using the spotting scope for my AR-15, and decided to keep it out for the shotgun because I'd never fired a slug from it, and wasn't sure how accurate it would be. At 25 yards, it was actually very …

Another bargain Federal .40 S&W round is in the wild, the first being the XM40HA 135 grain HST's sold at Walmart and other discount stores & sporting goods. It's a 180 grain HST being sold mainly in white-box with the part number XM40HC. This ammunition was made for a military or police customer and the excess production is being made available for sale. I've seen reports of $17 to $27 for a box of 50. Differences between the Federal Premium Tactical 180 HST (P40HST1) and the XM40HC: Velocity P40HST1 990 - 1025 FPS XM40HC 1005 +/- FPS Muzzle Energy P40HST1 392 - 420 lb-ft XM40HC 404 +/- lb-ft Distinctions without a difference, and the HST's deliver mass…

30-06 Rifle Scope Recommendations
by Gerowen- 4 replies
So I took the Savage 110 30-06 rifle out to the range today, and while I was impressed with the rifle, the scope failed me. I wasn't really surprised, it was a used weapon and scope. I bought somes 100 yard "sight-in" targets, and upon firing my first 3 rounds, I noticed not a single one had even landed on the paper. I had a guy watch with another scope and my rounds were landing 2-3 feet to the left on another guy's target. I had a really tight shot group, which tells me that myself and the rifle were performing consistently. I tried cranking the windage knob and it didn't seem to have any effect. I eventually screwed the windage knob out as far as it would come an…

I wonder if anyone can help me? I am trying to find a supplier in the UK that sells an arcade cocktail cabinet kit the same as this one http://www.mameroom.com/Products_Cocktail3_Kit.asp I only want the base cabinet as I want to customise it myself. I would buy from NorthCoast but the shipping is more that the kit itself hence why I am trying to find someone in the UK that sells the same at the same quality. My skills are not good enough to buy the plans and build myself either. Besides I dont have the tools either. Thanks

I am just a beginner in photography but I was wondering what sort of site/service do you guys mostly use to store all your photos online? I am looking for a decent service(free most probably) to store my photos online but it has to be user friendly and if it has an desktop app to automatically upload them it would be great. Amatuer Radio Question
by Jombi- 5 replies

Not sure how many of you guys are ham operators. I got my license back in 2008, and didn't get a radio set up until about 5 months ago. I have a Yaesu FT2900R, with a dualband whip antenna. I'm going to going off to another college soon, and would like to take my setup with me. However, I'm not sure which route to take with my radio. Should I go ahead and use my radio in my house after I move (I already have a power converter), and go ahead and buy a handheld for the car? Or should I just set it up in my car and call it a day? One reason I'm wary about having it in my car is, I rarely do anything when I'm driving. If I'm doing anything except driving, I'm either t…
