Halo app coming to Windows 10 PCs; wants to be best Halo entry point

A couple of days ago, Microsoft announced that the Halo 5: Forge map editor would be coming to Windows 10 PCs in early September. But alongside the editor itself, the company also mentioned a new Halo app that also coming to the Windows Store. Now we got some more details on that.

The new Halo app, seen in the image up top, is coming to PCs alongside the Forge map editor, and it’ll also be free. The app is designed to function as hub for all things Halo on PCs, offering users a quick way to check out news, explore community content, and start up Halo games.

343 Industries, the makers of Halo billed the app as such:

Our vision is for the Halo app to become the best way for our fans to get the latest information and details about all of our games, both past, present, and future. It will also be a great way to get the latest news, videos, tutorials, featured content, update notes and more from the Halo universe on your PC.

As mentioned above the app will be free and available through the Windows Store. The app’s makers explained that they’re looking for community feedback with the aim of tailoring the Halo app for users. The app, alongside Halo 5: Forge will be available on September 8th.
