Galaxy Note7 could relaunch in India on October 7, South Korean sales pushed back a bit

The Galaxy Note7 has received a lot of flak due to a battery issue, causing a small number of units sold across the world to explode. Samsung initiated a replacement program in its launch markets and stopped sales of new units as well. In its home country of South Korea, the Note7 was expected to go on sale once again from September 28th; however, this date has now been pushed back to October 1.

According to a comment from Samsung, not more than 200,000 customers have replaced their Note7s in the country and commencing sales of new units would slow down the recall process. The company has also revealed that exchanging devices through carriers won't be possible from October 1 onwards, making it difficult for those who haven't already submitted their devices.

In the Indian market, Samsung is said to be planning a major relaunch of the Note7 smartphone with a big-budget advertising campaign. The company will begin selling new devices in the country on October 7, which is the same day on which iPhone 7 sales will commence there.

The smartphone is already back in stock in the US, while the European market will probably have to wait the longest to get the Note7. It remains to be seen if the device will receive a positive response as it goes on sale again, and whether or not Samsung can shake off the stigma associated with it.
