Microsoft adds six more games to Xbox One Backward Compatibility

It's been a slow couple of weeks for the Xbox One Backward Compatibility list. Last Tuesday was the last time we saw anything new, when just Hitman: Absolution was added. In the previous week, just three games were added, with LEGO Indiana Jones on Tuesday and three more on Thursday.

Today though, Microsoft is introducing six more titles to the Backward Compatibility list, which should bring the grand total to 339. Here's what's new today:

Assassin's Creed Rogue ($29.99)

North America, 18th century. Amid the chaos and violence of the French and Indian War, Shay Patrick Cormac, a fearless young member of the Assassin Brotherhood, undergoes a dark transformation that will forever shape the future of the colonies. After a dangerous mission goes tragically wrong, Shay turns his back on the Assassins who, in response, attempt to end his life. Cast aside by those he once called brothers, Shay sets out on a mission to wipe out all who turned against him and to ultimately become the most feared Assassin hunter in history. Introducing Assassin’s Creed® Rogue, the darkest chapter in the Assassin’s Creed® franchise yet. As Shay, you will experience the slow transformation from Assassin to Assassin hunter. Follow your own creed and set off on an extraordinary journey through New York City, the wild river valley, and far away to the icy cold waters of the North Atlantic in pursuit of your ultimate goal, to bring down the Assassins.

Borderlands 2 ($19.99)

A new era of shoot and loot is about to begin. Play as one of four new vault hunters facing off against a massive new world of creatures, psychos and the evil mastermind, Handsome Jack. Make new friends, arm them with a bazillion weapons and fight alongside them in 4 player co-op or split-screen on a relentless quest for revenge and redemption across the undiscovered and unpredictable living planet.

Gyromancer ($14.99)

Gyromancer: A fusion of puzzle and RPG gaming. You are Rivel, a powerful mage who leads fearsome beasts into battle as he explores the depths of Aldemona Wood. Master a deep--and deeply addictive--battle system. Twelve stages of play against dozens of unique foes. The full version allows you to play all stages of the game.

The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match ($9.99)

Originally crowned as a top contender in the fighting game genre with the release of KOF 98, this full upgrade to the second entry in the KOF Ultimate Match series, KOF 2002 is widely considered to be the ultimate KOF. Based on the KOF NESTS compilation originally released only in Japan, the game offers the series' largest selection of characters as well as an all new soundtrack and enhanced graphics. The game balance has been carefully retuned for the addition of new moves and recovery moves, making KOF 2002UM a heated battle on your Xbox 360 that never stops!

Moon Diver ($14.99)

The Earth lies in ruins. In the year 2081, five warriors suddenly appeared during an eclipse and began the fight to take back Earth. Introducing MOON DIVER, an easy-to-control side-scrolling action game for 1–4 players. Get ready for non-stop acrobatic action on the ground, walls, and even ceilings! Characters can level up, gain new abilities, and unleash devastating special attacks known as MoonSault Combinations!

Space Invaders: IG ($9.99)

Space Invaders, the game that defined video games for generations, is back with a new twist! The game starts off looking like the classic Space Invaders, but as you play through the game, it evolves. Unlock new stages, new power ups, and new features. The full game features a total of 143 stages from both Normal Mode and the breathtaking Challenge Mode where stages change with each playthrough. You can even blast your way through unique stages evolved from your very own music! Compete against other players from all around the world in real time with the appropriately named Real Time Rankings! Space Invaders Infinity Gene is the pinnacle of outer space shooting action! The more you play, the more the game evolves!

You'll notice that Borderlands 2 is one of the new additions this week, which is one of next month's Games with Gold. If you're an Xbox Live Gold member and you want the game, it might be best to wait a few days until you can grab it for free.

It's also not too late to cash in on this month's Games with Gold. You can still get Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime (Xbox One) and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Xbox 360) until the end of the month, and Project Cars Digital Edition (Xbox One) until March 15.
